Texas Guitar Legend Jimmie Vaughan
Jimmie Vaughan is far more than just one of the greatest and most respected guitarists in the world of popular music.
As Guitar Player Magazine notes, "He is a virtual deity--a living legend." After all, Vaughan provides a vital link between contemporary music and its proud heritage, as well as being a longtime avatar of retro cool.
American Music Original Dale Watson
Dale Watson isn't one to uphold the music industry's status quo. He's moving forward on his own terms and true to his own convictions
Even with frequent proclamations declaring him one of country music's last authentic voices (like that in Crazy Again--a recent documentary on Watson's life--when a fan declares, "son, you play country like country was when country was country"), Watson is done with the "C" word and what it's come to represent in modern times. So much so that he's created his own genre, simply called Ameripolitan.
The Jones Family Singers
Traditional Gospel with a Contemporary Flair
This gospel group, hailing from Bay City, Texas, is comprised of Bishop Fred A. Jones, Sr. along with five of his six daughters, one of his two sons, a grandson, and a son-in-law. The Pentecostal family is returning to Central Texas after their show-stopping slot at last year's ACL festival, and their multi-part harmonies and "traditional gospel with a contemporary flair" is a truly inspiring musical experience.
Hannibal Lokumbe
World-renowned Jazz Composer and Smithville Native
Now resides in Bastrop, Texas with his family. His career in music spans over four decades. This journey has seen him go from the cotton fields of Elgin, Texas where he heard the hymns of his grandparents, to the stages of Carnegie Hall and much of the world. At age thirteen he was given a trumpet by his mother. A year later his band The Soul Masters was backing up such icons as Jackie Wilson, Otis Redding, Etta James, Lightning Hopkins and T. Bone Walker.
The Peterson Brothers Band
Bringing the best of the blues, jazz, bluegrass, rock and more to the stage
The Peterson Brothers Band has been tucked away deep in the Lost Pines of Bastrop Texas. It is the inspiration of a 13 year old lead guitarist and band leader, Glenn Peterson Jr. and his 10 year old brother Alex Peterson on bass and violin.
The Black
Austin Neo-retro rock band.
The Black is a rock band from Austin, Texas that formed in 2002 when singer/songwriter David Longoria began collaborating with drummer Andy Morales. The line-up has been rounded out with the addition of Jason Chronis on bass and Adoniram Lipton on organ.
The Watts Brothers
The WBB is classic country, with a touch of bluesy romps, belt buckle shining waltzes, and even the occasional yodel.
The WBB provides the perfect mix of well known classics with stellar originals. Audiences rave about the fun atmosphere, lively crowd interactions, and entertaining floor show almost as much as they appreciate the music.
